Can ECC idea be incorporated in the app? Like for example the driver has crashed and has recovered, instead of throwing an error, pause for awhile then resume after sometime.

We proposed that to BOINC at the start of GPUs, but finally they decided to keep the current policy.

just noticed it today:
Fix - Recover from crashes in Nvidia and ATI GPU functions (Linux, Mac)

Is this true? how about windows, when will it be?

I don't thin that this is what you asked. But I am not sure.

Could applications be developed to incorporate a feature whereby if a failure occurs (which could be caused by just about anything) Boinc will first try to resumb from a time check point, and should that fail perhaps close Boinc and re-open Boinc, before erroring out? This might remove lots of random errors, and would bypass the need to rely on Boinc code to incorporate this or any other feature.

PS. I think it is important that GPUGrid takes the lead with such possible improvements, rather than relying on Boinc (which now has a gluttony of CPU projects to pander to). Your recent performance improvements came from your own endeavour. Keep it up.
