when I try to run boinc I get this error. If it was requesting CPU work then it does this. GPUgrid doesn't have CPU apps. Just ignore these. If however it was requesting GPU work then it should get it. You need to check a bit further up in the log to see what it was asking for. Seeing you mention "It stays at 51% gpu usage" you have obviously received some work. The app is quite regularly updated by the developers here, so they can get better usage. We usually suggest you set an environment variable Swan_Sync with a value of zero and leave a cpu core free. This uses more cpu time but pushes your GTX580 more. If you need help with this just ask and tell us what operating system you are using. Cheers ____________ BOINC blog

I am using win 7 x64 and I don't see the options you listed. Under Win7 click on Start -> Control Panel -> User accounts & Family safety -> User accounts. In the left hand pane there is an option "Change my environment variables". Click on it. It will show you what you currently have. Probably TEMP and TMP. Click the New button. For the Variable name type SWAN_SYNC, for the Variable value put 0 (the number zero). Click the Ok button. To free up a CPU in BOINC probably the easiest way is to adjust your preferences to use 87.5% of processors (it defaults to 100%). ____________ BOINC blog
