i know it was caused by a computational error by one of the tasks, but how do i lift it? 2 tasks a days is a very low limit

This is only a problem on windows. Linux has no problems at all.

so apparently, all my recent tasks returned

-44 (0xffffffffffffffd4) Unknown error number
and i found another user with the same issue. what is causing this and what can be done about it? "this only happens on windows" doesnt help me, im not going to switch operating systems because of this.

I have seen it on Ubuntu also, but only when a lot of QC work units error out (not a problem any longer). The limit was much higher though, and recovery was about a day as I recall.

You can't do anything about it, the error is in the Windows / CUDA8.0 app (most probably an expired license).
Set up a backup project (with 0 resource share), and keep an eye on the forum.

"this only happens on windows" doesnt help me, im not going to switch operating systems because of this.
Perhaps some will. BTW the Linux app could expire anytime, as we don't know about its licensing details either.
PS: The Windows / CUDA6.5 client is working fine, so if you have an older card (GTX 9x0 and earlier) you can try to downgrade your drivers to less than 370.0.

im using primegrid as a backup project already, i just feel that gpugrid would put my card to better use. downgrading the driver isnt an option unfortunately, i guess i'll just have to wait until the issue is resolved. any estimates on how long that usually takes? (days, weeks, months)

I don't think anyone is around, it's the weekend. I'm sure as soon as the project admins are made aware of the problem, they'll start working on a fix. Also, there doesn't seem to be any moderators anymore, I have no idea why. Usually they would contact the site admins and let them know whats going on.

I have the same problem. Suddenly I'm limited to 1 task per day on my Windows machine. My Linux machine is running GPU grid just fine.

Same here. I am running SETI@home on my Windows 10 PC with 4 cores. The Linux boxes have only 2 cores.

I have suspended GPUGRID on my Windows PCs until there is certainty that everything works fine again.

You have exceeded 10 errored tasks and now your daily quota has been reduced to 1 per day until you return a valid result.

GPUGRID was working smoothly until a day or so ago
- when did these errored tasks start showing up?

If GPUGRID works on Linux and not windows it sounds like a code problem.

as already mentioned above and in another thread here in the forum, it seems that the Windows licence for the CUDA software has expired.

And now it all depends how long it takes the GPUGRID people to get it renewed.

I'm getting the same error message, and it turns out that there are 20 erronneous WU's, in one day...
That's not normal. My rig is functionning normally as it's crunching happily MilkyWay WU's without any errors.

So that would mean we can exclude my GPU's from the equation.

Can somebody check please ?

Thanks.

Maybe this is a forced update/upgrade from Windows to Linux... can it be possible? X-D

Having said this, it's a debatable point whether that is an upgrade or downgrade. Anyway I grin and bear it, there is nothing we could do about it anyway. Powering down my GPUs for a while until we get green light again.

I have both Einstein@home and SETI@home running on a Ulefone smartphone using Android 7.1.1. I wish I could run also GPUGRID on it, at least the QMC tasks. It has an ARM64 CPU with 8 cores. ARM is a RISC processor.

The server status page a few moments ago was showing three new batches:

ADRIA_FOLDUCB_T1015_predicted_pred_ucb_50_T1015s1_ 250 0 0 just released...
ADRIA_FOLDUCB_T1019s1_predicted_pred_ucb_50_T1019s1_ 250 0 0 just released...
ADRIA_FOLDUCB_T1019s2_predicted_pred_ucb_50_T1019s2_ 250 0 0 just released...

and a total of 4,272 long run tasks ready to send. I tested two of the new ones on a normally-reliable Windows mine-canary: immediate failure, as with all tasks started since Saturday midnight.

I think that confirms the theory that it's application related, not task related. I think we need to get a messenger pidgeon into the ops room before they waste their own time making new models - it doesn't appear that they've looked at their own status page yet.

What the heck happened to the moderators? I keep asking and everyone seems afraid to talk about it, something must have happened when I was gone.

Pretty much the norm for GPU apps. Only the CPU app has any updates recently.
