I am also willing to help test. I have a gaming laptop with a RTX 2070. Yes, I am running Windows. I will resume the workload just as soon as someone tells me when. I would love to continue to process for this project. I hope to hear some good news soon.

The heavy metal runs on Linux. While I agree, it's best to focus on one app at a time to at least get one out the door faster.

Will GPU Windows app briefly be shutdown/queue runs dry when the update takes place? Or is it intended to be seamless?

Currently have 3 Turing GPU 2080 / 2070 / 2060 on Win 8.1 waiting to test the new app. Picking up another 2070 & 1660 in next fortnight.

Windows will come soon provided that the wrapping works. I agree. Due to the WDDM overhead the RTX 2080Ti will be only slightly faster on Windows, than a GTX 1080Ti on Linux (with SWAN_SYNC on). I see ~24% performance increase in the performance of the Einstein@home OpenCL client after I've upgraded to RTX 2080Ti from GTX 1080Ti on Linux. I can install Windows 10 in 15 minutes to this host, or swap my cards around (again) when the Windows app is ready for testing. However I strongly recommend for the GPUGrid staff to roll out the upgraded Linux client as soon as possible.

I have been chatting to Nvidia UK support regarding Turing editions and there is an RTX8000 if anyone has the money. They also support educational programmes so we should talk to Nvidia about hard cash discounts for proven and tested philanthropic grid computing.

I am curious about pricing and amount of cuda cores and speed of cuda cors. See https://www.nvidia.com/en-au/design-visualization/quadro/rtx-8000/ It’s got 48GB of GDDR6 memory! ____________ BOINC blog

[ I have been chatting to Nvidia UK support regarding Turing editions and there is an RTX8000 if anyone has the money. They also support educational programmes so we should talk to Nvidia about hard cash discounts for proven and tested philanthropic grid computing. In my opinion, it would be sufficient, if BOINC might convince one of the hardware producers: AMD, NVIDIA, INTEL, et all or Microsoft, Apple; e-tailers: newegg.com, amazon.com; or just one Computer Shop next door to accept: GRIDCOIN as payment / currency. With this you have your requirements fulfilled: it is a member of the proven and tested philanthropic grid computing community. Or at least has bought GRIDCOINs and therefore supports the volunteer computing of the BOINC community.

Has anyone returned and validated jobs with a Turing yet? No. We are waiting for the new app. If you see any RTX card on the performance page, this is only because: 1. the given host have multiple GPUs, and the BOINC client reports the fastest one 2. the user upgraded his/her GPU in the given host since it has returned the given result in both cases the workunit is actually processed on a non-Turing GPU.

How to select it? "New version of ACEMD" app is not a choice under project preferences.
