Is this still a problem?

"
There is still the issue with the bundled zip files not containing the Visual C++ redistributable runtime vcruntime140_1.dll for Windows hosts.

I downloaded three tasks on my two Windows 10 and Windows 11 PCs. Two have completed, one is running.

Is this still a problem?

On a quick straw poll of WU 27095399, I'd say yes.

I'm working on replication _5: of the five errors before mine, three are 'incompatible device' - the driver problem (except these were all v1121), and two are 'app exit status: 0xc0000135' - the missing DLL problem.

So the failure rate for the two outstanding problems is roughly comparable, and I'd say it was worth fixing.

Yes
I had to download MS Visual C++ yesterday on a BOINC only W10 system.

W/o the install it would appear to run forever on the remote PC w/o any CPU/GPU usage. There was a missing dll popup that when OK'd would abort the task.

I reset the project hoping it would download. Nope. Installed a Visual C++ beyond the required 2015 version and it's been running fine since.

Yes. In my ProgramData\BOINC folder for GPUGrid, I see vcruntime140.dll, but not vcruntime140_1.dll. I don't have any problems because I also have Visual Studio 2019 installed (VC++ 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2022 all use the same distributed runtime package). For those having a problem, you can find the latest VC++ 2015 runtime at https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist

I'm running my 2nd WU and I don't have the file. I only have vcruntime140.dll and my 2nd WU is halfway completed.

There are a lot of failures before my assignment to the task.
